Pokhara is the gateway for most of the trekking routes in Annapurna region, for example, Annapurna circuit trek and Jomsom Trek. Together with these trek routes, there are other short treks that are equally fascinating. For example Ghorepani Poon hill trek, Sarangkot trek.

Many travelers recommend Pokhara for not just its natural wonders and cultural uniqueness but also for its popularity as a recreational hub for adventure sports. Similarly boating on Phewa lake, admiring the landscapes, caves, and gorges, strolling in the lakeside, enjoying the panoramic view of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Himal are some activities you can engage yourself in while being at this beautiful city of Pokhara.

Our one-day sightseeing Pokhara tour starts after your breakfast at around 8 am. We will visit some of the must-visit sites of Pokhara which includes David’s falls, Museum, Seti Gorge, Bindabasini Temple and so on. After visiting such amazing sites you will find why Pokhara is considered a heartland of Nepal for tourism. We visit the following sites

1. David falls:
Named after David, who swept away by this massive fall in 1961. During the rainy season when the water volume is high this waterfall looks stunning and fierce. It is located in 2km southwest of Pokhara airport and called locally as “Potale Chango”.

2. Gupteshwor Cave:
Close to the David fall, we visit Gupteshwor cave which houses lord shiva temple. Gupteshowor cave is popular for its stunning interior walls. Colorful limestones hung in its walls which made it unique and captivating to observe. You can also observe the Tibetean Carpet Knitting process nearby and visit monasteries nearby.

3.Bindyabasini Temple:
This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, also known as the goddess of (shakti or power). You will see many devotees offering their praying to the goddess and bowing their heads. It was built in the 16th century, so it has historical importance as well.

4. Mahendra Cave and Chamera Gupha (Cave).
Mahendra Cave and Chameri Gupha are two other major sites of Pohara you will visit. Chameri Gufa got its name from Bat which translates to Nepali as Chameri. You can see lots of bats hanging on the walls of these caves.

5. Seti Gorge
You will watch the milky white Seti river gushing through the gorge, which is barely a 2m wide. You will enjoy the hypnotic sound it made while flowing through the gorge from Mahendra Pul, a bridge above the gorge. Seti river goes underground through the city.

6. International Mountaineering Museum:
Uniquely shaped like a mountain, this museum offers information about the highest peaks and historic information of the mountaineers who successfully climbed these peaks. Also, it offers you information about the mountains, culture, traditions, lifestyle of the people living in mountain regions of Annapurna.

7. Phewa Lake and Barahi Temple:
Phewa lake is Nepal second-largest lake popular for its natural beauty, accessibility from the city and activities like boating and so on. At the center of the lake, there is a small island holding Barahi temple dedicated to goddess Barahi. Animals and birds are sacrificed in this temple during Saturday. The reflection of Machhapuchhre on the surface of this lake and change in the color of the lake, getting orange-red during sunset makes it visually stunning to see and many travelers find a sort of calmness and peacefulness while observing the scenery. There are many activities you can participate in at Phewa lake like boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, bird watching, and many more. There are a number of restaurants near the lake that offers warm tea or cold drinks you can enjoy while watching the gorgeous lake and surrounding beauty.

Your first day in the serene city of Pokhara with Rediscover Nepal Treks & Tours begins with a visit to the breathtaking David Falls. Known locally as “Patale Chango,” these falls plunge dramatically into an unseen tunnel, creating a spectacular natural wonder that captivates visitors with its roaring sound and misty spray. Just a short walk from David Falls, you will explore the mysterious Gupteshwor Cave, a sacred cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.
