The Everest and Khumbu regions in Nepal home to the legendary mountain people the Sherpas is filled with different geography, from green valleys to high altitude mountain trails. The panoramic views of the Nepalese Himalayas are stunning and unforgettable. From Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nupse and many others the Himalayan views during this trek in Nepal are amazing. To make it even better during the trek our Rediscover Nepal trekking team organizes a small excursion to Kalapatthar, from where one can see the most epic sunrise views in the whole world! Imagine seeing how light breaks night and the sun showing its first warm beams on the highest mountain in the world, truly a breathtaking view!
The journey to EBC takes us through many cultural villages such as Namche Bazaar the biggest Sherpa village in the region. Here an excursion to get used to the high altitude can be planned up towards Khumjung, from where our first perfect views of the Himalayas come in sight. For a more cultural aspect of the Everest Base Camp Trek we can make a visit to the Sherpa museum and learn how these legendary mountain people thrived and survived in these high altitudes! Another part of the trek is the visit to Thyangboche where the Thyangboche Buddhist Monastery is located. Witnessing the peaceful prayer rituals of the Buddhist monks in the high altitudes is absolutely amazing and brings harmony to the soul!
The Everest Base Camp Trek is organized whiting 14 days and we Rediscover Nepal strongly advise to book some extra days on your trip, as flight delays towards Lukla are not uncommon due to bad weather.
