Overview

The Ruby Valley Trek organized by Rediscover Nepal, highlights the amazing Ganesh Himal and is still filled with unexplored trekking trails in Nepal. This incredible area is filled with ruby gems and so the Ruby Valley trek became to be. An adventures journey with the Ganesh Himal always in sight, and this is just one of the things that makes the Ruby Valley Trek so amazing!

This 12 days trek in Nepal leads you through old villages where you get to experience the culture and traditions of the Tamang and Gurung.  With scenic landscapes, virgin trekking trails and the warm hospitality of the locals this trek in Nepal can’t get any better! But it does as the area is mostly flatland with iconic terrace farms and some climbs the views just open up in to a Himalayan paradise. During the Ruby Valley Trek 12 days there are some locations where there is no facility of tea or guest houses, as so we help the locals by staying on homestay bases. This in turn contributes to sustainable tourism and is a great chance to interact in the local culture and traditions!

The Ruby Valley Trail
Starting off from Kathmandu, a scenic drives takes us to Shyabru Besi located just south east from the Ganesh Himal and the starting point of the Ruby Valley Trek 12 days. From here the adventure truly begins! A two days trek takes us to Gatlang and Somdang. Being a typical Tamang village Somdang is where we take our acclimatization day. Our Rediscover Nepal trekking guide will explain you about the upcoming mountain pass the Pang Sang Pass. Being at 3,850 meters you can just imagine the incredible views from this mountain pass!

Another two days of trekking in Nepal takes us from Tipling to Shertung. This area is famous for its natural hot water springs. We will be sure to make a day trip to these healing waters! From here it’s back upwards to Ungul, locally more known as Jharlang. While at Ungul we can enjoy the warm hospitality of homestay in Nepal. Our last day of trekking takes us down to Dharkha Gaun and ultimately Dharkha Phedi from where we take a ride back to Kathmandu and conclude the Rubby Valley Trek organized by Rediscover Nepal.
